A green-yellow gold colour, soft and sparkling. The aroma is the clear freshness of delicate vetiver, chlorophyll and citrus, particularly lemon peel. Below that, there are wheaty, bready notes. On the palate it is direct, pure, fresh, finely constructed with a light, airy touch. As it warms gently, the mature notes give something more robust and smooth. The finish is ever-so-slightly bitter, pleasantly so, the result of a balanced dosage that respects the wine’s natural balance.

The "Rośe de saignée" is a rarity in champagne. As a preamble the ruby red hue of the Rośe de saignée is a pleasure for the eyes. The nose of the champagne is a spring bouquet: rose, wild strawberry, raspberry and later bblackberry, combine perfectly to offer the taster aromas, which would be unexpected in a normal rośe champagne. The mouth follows on from the nose, with the structure of the Pinot Noir leaving at a convincing vinosity at the finish. By virtue of its freshness, this rosé de saignée Champagne is best enjoyed young to take full advantage of the aromas of small, fresh and crisp red berries.

Over the last four or five years, this property has risen from one of the most disappointing grand cru classes of St.-Emilion to one of the best. The strong, positive, authoritative 2011 exhibits an opaque blue/purple color along with copious aromas of blueberries, black raspberries, graphite and crushed chalk. Ripe and sweet on the entry, it offers an attractive attack, a solidly rich mid-palate and a light to moderately tannic finish. One of the more complete wines to be found in this vintage, this medium-bodied wine will evolve further especially over the next 2-3 years of cellaring, and should drink well over the following 15 years.

Adding to generations before, Propriétaire Pierre Sirac seamlessly produces a deep yet approachable medium bodied rouge of outstanding balance. From fine pickings of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, its deep brilliant raisin hue and teasing aromas are followed by a sumptuous palate filled with black currants laid on persistent silky tannins. Pairing: This pleasing Bordeaux can accompany a variety of cheese, poultry, red meats, and evolve with style.

Like a fine Burgundy, the nose is very perfumed displaying blueberry, dark cherry and floral with subtle game and spice. Lovely medium intensity is extended by very fine silky tannins. The floral aroma on the nose is reminiscent of red carnations lightly touched with cinnamon. These flavours carry through onto the palate that is succulent and concentrated with silky texture and supple tannins that linger in the gently warming finish. It's pristine while showing elegant layers of texture and savoury characters. Though really enjoyable now, this wine will reward medium term cellaring with enhanced complexity.
